Junior Squad

Part of the Ivanhoe Neons competitive club 

At this level there is an introduction to quality to equip swimmers for competitive swimming.  Training is medley based and squad members must have the ability to perform all strokes well in training and in competition.  Squad members must attend the full program. Swimmers are required to have a clear understanding of the different kinds of training they are required to perform.  Swimmers will develop experience at racing in quality competitions.

Requirements for inclusion

• Must attend minimum of 5 sessions weekly - morning sessions are scheduled into this program
• Must attend at least 1 morning session
• Must attend swim carnivals as per squad term information
• Swimmers will be training to represent Neons at District and State Championships level 

Training times & Locations

• Refer to website Training Calendar for training session times
• Session times are also outlined as per flyer provided each term
• There will be no afternoon training on club Time Trial nights
• Training is held at the Ivanhoe Grammar Pool

Progression to Target Squad

• Management and/or coaching staff will determine swimmers' ability and assessment for progression to Target Squad
