MELBOURNE VICENTRE & CAREY MEET RESULTS 

Ivanhoe Swimmers had amazing results at the Melbourne Vicentre meet on Saturday and the Carey meet. Nearly every swimmer improved in at least one swim and most improved in nearly all their events.  New swimmers, who hadn't swum a particular event before, established excellent times for themselves.  Congratulations to our new state age/open qualifiers: SID TERRILL, GEORGIA LLOYD, BRAYYD TURNER, CLAIRE MOLONY and SIMON BOHUN.  Medallists were:

MOONEE VALLEY AQUATIC MEET RESULTS

Congratulations to all our younger swimmers - especially to our newer members who participated in their first ever swim meet.  Special mention to Matthew Hines who finished in the top eight in multiple events.  Medallists were:

Congratulations to all 10 swimmers who represented Ivanhoe Neons at SOPAC in Sydney.  Well done to our medallists and to Michael Forno, Annabel Newton and Alistair Cooper who made 10th positions.  Medallists were:

Congratulations to Bryce Glover who finalled in both the 50m and 100m MD Breaststroke events.

Congratulations to all Neons swimmers who participated in the Semis and Finals of the All Junior Competition, with special mention of the performances by these swimmers:

WORLD SCHOOL GAMES

Congratulations to Matt Sterrenberg who has been selected as a member of the Australian Secondary school team to compete in Doha, Qatar in December this year.  His selection was a result of his performance at the Pacific School Games in Canberra late last year, where he won 2 events and broke the Australian Secondary School record.

AUSTRALIAN AGE OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIPS

Jess McCarthy ventured to Penrith, New South Wales to compete in the Girls 14yrs 5km Age Nationals event. In what was a very fiercely contested event, with some competitors receiving the odd punch, Jess managed to escape unharmed and finish 10th in her event. Congratulations Jess!

VICTORIAN STATE SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to all our swimmers who competed at the Victorian State Sprint competition on Saturday, with finals on Sunday.  Finalists included Ash Simons, Michael Forno, Nan Ternai, Burt O'Connor, Bryce Glover.  Medallists were:

  • Tom Newton:  GOLD FLY
  • Remy Schneider:  BRONZE FLY, BRONZE FREE
