2007 Annual Away Trip to Albury

Away Trip to Albury:

  1. Dates:  Friday evening 9 November 2007 to Sunday evening 11 November 2007.
  2. Transport:  The team would be taking the V-Line train from Southern Cross Station to Albury on Friday night and returning on Sunday evening by train.
  3. Accommodation:  Accommodation is within walking distance of both the pool and some nearby shops.  Swimmers will be sharing bungalows.
  4. Meet information:  Meet flyer is in the website Library.   There are several Splash-For-Cash events which should provide some fun for those motivated by the stuff that folds.
  5. Eligibility:  As usual, swimmers from the following squads are eligible to attend: State, Senior and HPS - coaches have made eligibility criteria known to swimmers - swimmers can be assured that they know what they should be doing to be considered for inclusion (e.g. making sessions etc). Letters of invitation have been sent to swimmers.  Very important:  If you are not able to attend this meet, please let Kate Sterrenberg know asap on 9431-6893 or 0414 169 552 or administration@ivanhoeneons.org.au as this will impact organisation.
  6. Cost:  $150.00 which includes transport, accommodation and meals (except on Friday night - swimmers must bring a packed tea to eat on the train).  Mums and Dads will be asked if they could bake special goodies for the train trips and afternoon teas.
  7. Advance Warning:  Evening entertainment on Saturday evening will be a buffet dinner at a local Asian restuarant with accompanying karaoke facilities, so swimmers should start testing their singing skills in the shower now. 

  8. MOST IMPORTANT: the assistance of at least two chaperones to accompany the swimmers will be required. At least one must be a male chaperone and unfortunately if we cannot get a male guardian for the weekend we cannot go away for the trip.


    At the moment, we have more boys than girls who are likely to attend. It would be good if we could get a second male volunteer. We need to have four guardians as we are taking up to 30 swimmers and the general ruling for these trips is a ratio of 1:8.  The committee are unable to attend as they have other club commitments.  Please contact Kate Sterrenberg on administration@ivanhoeneons.org.au or 9431 6893 or 0414 169 552 if you are able to assist as a chaperone.
