2008 Victorian Age/Open/SWD Championships relay teams

Congratulations to the following swimmers who have been selected to swim in the Ivanhoe Neons State relay teams. We wish our swimmers the best of luck as they compete against the best in the state.

Girls 12/u - Annabel Newton, Remy Schneider, Sarah Tanner & Pearl-Lyn Yap
Boys 14/u - Michael Forno, Tom Newton, Ashley Simons & Matt Sterrenberg
Girls 14/u - Jess McCarthy, Claire Molony, Natalie Presutti & Nan Ternai

 

Selection of Relay Teams:

The selection of relay teams for State Championships is the responsibility of the Committee.
We acknowledge the importance of these events, for the individual swimmers and the club as a whole. We also realise the emotion that may be associated with selection or non-selection for these events.
The State Championships can be a long and arduous, but exciting and fun week for swimmers, and is obviously in holiday time. Many families wait until the completion of their events at the championships before heading off on holidays, and we are grateful for that commitment that our swimmers show to the club. We do not wish to overburden any swimmers, nor delay any holiday plans unnecessarily. For these reason this year we have based our team selection on teams who will be competitive i.e. anticipated to finish close to or in the top 10 for the state (based on their estimated entry time). Therefore our selections of swimmers will be collated taking into consideration:
• Fastest times
• Attendance at the relevant and required training sessions for each squad
• Availability to swim at these championships
